Here you can visit the Miclo distillery and enjoy a tasting session, as well as the eaux de vie museum, which traces the age-old process of making this famous nectar. In the heart of the village, the Welche country brewery will introduce you to the secrets of brewing local beer, while the Haxaire cheese dairy will tell you all about Munster's iconic cheese. Lapoutroie is also a village set in an exceptional green setting, where nature lovers can discover the many hiking trails between lakes, forests and pastures. Take a refreshing break at the Devin pond not far from the ‘Tête des Faux’, a magical and peaceful spot. 5km from Lapoutroie, you can climb to the top of the 16.50m Faudé Tower and admire the breathtaking 360° view over the valley.

Finally, you'll have the chance to discover the superb Wine Route, which stretches for 170km through typical Alsatian towns and villages, from Marlenheim in the north to Thann at the southern end.

Before leaving Alsace, make a diversion to Colmar, known as Little Venice, with its elegant rows of houses on either side of the Lauch river. In winter, enjoy one of the many Christmas markets, a real Alsatian tradition.
